About Syracuse University
Also known as SU or the ‘Cuse, this private educational institution is located in Syracuse, New York, close to the city downtown, where many artistic, recreational and cultural activities are taking place during the year, providing the students lots of fun and learning opportunities. SU, NY is divided into 13 colleges and schools, with different educational degrees, from engineering and architecture, to public and business administration. In what concerns the athletic teams of Syracuse University, these are known as the “Orange”, since 2004, but before they were called Orangemen and Orangewomen, titles which are still used by some, but only unofficially. SU’s mascot is Otto the Orange and it participates with the teams in 20 intercollegiate sports, SU being one of the members in NCAA Division I’s Big East Conference.
SU’s main campus is also known as the “North Campus”, representing a big part of the University Hill neighborhood. There are around 5000 students who live in the Syracuse University’ main campus, but who can easily reach the other campus areas by bus. Close to SU’s main campus, there are the theatres which are mainly used by the drama department.
